This week you have a choice for the weekly writing assignment.
Choice 1: Keep doing what you've been doing for the past 3 weeks. Pick a discussion prompt from the booklet and write a s.e.x.y. response.
OR
Choice 2: Make an "Undo" list. (Click on "Undo" list to see a quick sample.)
We all know what a "To Do" list is - a list where you write down what you need to remember to do, either daily or weekly.
An "Undo" list is where you list things that you want to stop doing. This is a bit more difficult than a "To Do" list. This requires some critical thinking!
If you choose to do this, take time throughout this week to add to your "Undo" list. Think beyond, "I want to stop putting away dishes".
I will also be making an "Undo" list this week. I will share it by Thursday.
Send yours to me by the end of the week.
If you choose to do the weekly s.e.x.y. response, just follow the routine that's been established over the past 3 weeks.
Thursday, April 16
Today you should write out the good copy of your paragraph. Send me a copy of your good copy, along with the graphic organizer
and your rough draft with editing.
Wednesday, April 15
Today you should edit and revise your rough draft from yesterday. If you would like me to look it over after you've finished editing and revising, email it to me and I'll get back you today.

Today you need to write a rough draft paragraph based on your graphic organizer. Please take note that the S-statement is your answer to the question.
For example: Question: If I found a wallet, would I try to find the owner? (do not include this in your rough draft)
Statement: If I found a wallet, I would try to find the owner. (this is how you start the s.e.x.y. response paragraph)
Once you write out the rough draft, you can send it to me if you would like feedback.

Another week, another paragraph!
Well grade 8s, we were supposed to return to school today but here we are, in the safety of our own homes. Hope you're all doing well. I sent out an email to all students this morning, so let me know through email if you didn't receive it. ([email protected])
As I mentioned last week, I really enjoy reading your Discussion Prompt paragraphs. Soon, many of you won't even need to see the s.e.x.y. graphic organizer to know what's expected in a paragraph response!
Every Monday, I will assign another Discussion Prompt paragraph response, using the s.e.x.y. graphic organizer and the RADaR editing/revising outline. The routine will be the same every week.
